If you’ve entered the 2010 Pick ‘n Pay Cape Argus Cycle Tour and want to make your race count for more read on ...

74-year-old veteran cyclist Maisie Swoboda is challenging other cycle tour entrants to join her in ‘Cycling the Hill’s for the SPCA'.

A loyal volunteer and supporter of the CoGH SPCA Maisie has finished the last 25 Argus Cycle Tours and hopes to use her 26th race to support the SPCA’s efforts to help abused and neglected animals.

‘I’m passionate about cycling and animals and want to combine them to make a difference for the SPCA ’ explains Maisie.  ‘I’ve already been joined in this challenge by Head of Veterinary Services for the Western Cape Dr Gininda Msiza. We want to encourage other animal-loving cyclists to support this worthwhile cause.’

Sponsor Maisie now or fundraise for the SPCA yourself.  Making your race count for more couldn’t be easier according to Hill’s Pet Nutrition Managing Director Rina Cronwright.

‘Simply log onto www.doit4charity.co.za and select the ‘Cycle the Hill’s for the SPCA’ charity challenge as the beneficiary and the 2010 Pick 'n Pay Cape Argus as the event.  Then encourage all your friends and family to sponsor you and make an online donation ’ said Rina.

Every entrant who signs up for the Hill’s/SPCA cycle challenge and who donates or secures donations of R300 or more will receive a free SPCA cycling shirt.

The shirts can either be collected from the SPCA/Hill’s stand at the Lifecycle Expo at the Good Hope Centre from 11 – 13 March or from the SPCA by contacting Natasha on 021 700 4155 or emailing awareness@spca-ct.co.za

To order an SPCA cycling shirt for yourself – or for a team effort – click here. Or you can visit the SPCA stand at the Lifecycle Expo or call in at the SPCA headquarters in Grassy Park.
