When Mandy Wakeman and Monica Lintott of Tableview were retrenched they dreamed of helping charities rather than re-enter the commercial sector.

 

The pair have achieved their dream – by founding NuTrend Promotions – and the Cape of Good Hope SPCA is R20 000 better off thanks to this company’s first Cause 4 Paws party which was held at the Italian Club recently.

 

TATA Mowbray and Hyundai Western Cape provided sponsorship for the event while fabulous Italian food – and service – was provided by the Italian Club staff and the Palmieri brothers. Talented band Back to Back kept guests entertained.

 

Dozens of local companies also generously donated prizes for a raffle so that additional funds could be raised for the SPCA.

 

Sarah Scarth Resource Development Manager for the Cape of Good Hope SPCA said: ‘We were proud to be selected as a beneficiary by NuTrend Promotions and salute their efforts to raise funds for charity. The donation we received will be channeled into our animal hospital which treats hundreds of animals every month.’
