SPCA celebrates great success after its annual book sale in Canal Walk

Good news! The SPCA annual book sale which took place at the Vida-e court in Canal Walk this past weekend (Friday 29 June to Sunday 1 July) was a great success and more than doubled its 2011 figures by raising over R40 000 for the many animals the society rescues and cares for. 

Says Natasha Johannes, SPCA Fundraising Officer, “We’re proud to say that this was one of the best book sales we’ve had thus far. Thank you to the Canal Walk Foundation, Maritz Security Services, Banks R&L Hiring, book donors (individuals and companies), SPCA volunteers, various media publications within the broadcast, print and online mediums and all who supported our sale. Without your help we wouldn’t be celebrating this success.”

 Four year old Nieko Murphy of Goodwood visited the sale for some fun reads.
