A group of Capetonians recently raised over R8 000 towards refurbishing the kennels – and providing for the care of all the dogs, cats, horses and other animals, waiting to be adopted.
They did this by organising a walk, non stop from Cape Point to the bottom of Platteklip gorge – a distance of 75km – and asking friends and business colleagues to sponsor them through the Doit4Charity website. The 'Ridgway Ramblers' were accompanied on sections of the walk by a variety of dogs, many of which have been adopted from the SPCA.
If you would like to raise money for us by participating in a sporting or other event, or organising your own fundraising challenge, please visit the Doit4Charity website to set up a fundraising blog. Remember to select Cape of Good Hope SPCA as the beneficiary and the money you raise will go to animals in need [less bank charges and a small processing fee].
Then all you have to do is let all your friends and business colleagues know of your fundraiser and ask for their support! You can also use Doit4Charity or BackaBuddy if you decide you would rather friends and loved ones made a donation to the Cape of Good Hope SPCA instead of buying you a Christmas gift this year. |
