Charity shop

Support our Charity Shop

Our Charity Shop – at our Grassy Park premises – is frequently visited by people from neighbouring communities, most of which are impoverished.

Please think of us before throwing out unwanted items such as clothing, bric-a-brac, utensils, appliances, tools, furniture, curtains, blinds, toys, games, office supplies, sports equipment, radios, hi-fi's, TVs, VCRs, decoders (working condition), kennels, baskets and carriers.

Your donation to our Charity Shop helps us raise funds for animals – and helps the poor at the same time. Whilst we are grateful for donations, we do not accept any item or appliance that is not in working condition, magazines newspapers, empty bottles and containers (please take these to a recycling centre) or worn-out and damaged clothing.

Donated items can be delivered to the SPCA week days from 8:30am to 4:30pm or on weekends from 9am to12pm.

Please contact Lamees on 021 700 4140 or e-mail comms@spca-ct.co.za to advise us of your delivery during a weekend so that we can arrange for someone to receive it. For large items that can’t be delivered (such as furniture, big appliances) arrangements for collection can be made if you give us notice. Please contact Lamees on 021 700 4140.

Second-hand bookshop

The book shop offers a wide variety of books that should satisfy any book lover’s taste - at very reasonable prices.

“We’ve carefully selected the best from hundreds of books which are regularly donated to our society” said book shop coordinator Tessa Gilbert. “We have books for children; popular fiction and non-fiction; cookery; self-help; special interest and many more on offer at very good prices” she said.

All proceeds from the book shop will be used to care for the many animals the SPCA takes in on a daily basis and will be open to the public every Wednesday and Friday from 10am - 2pm.
